Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV – Sunrise Semester with Moe Green

In the video SCTV – Sunrise Semester with Moe Green, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of odd Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a skit which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it streamed by CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about dumb Canadian content legislation, the duo morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
