So dang funny and original
Finally, I get to see his full segment. The syndicated and DVD versions edited his performance due to copyright issues.
"…the restaurants I play in…"
Rick plays a right handed guitar, upside down and backwards. Not many guys play it the way.
Ah man… Linksk Miniyak. I miss that guy ❤
These guys were crazy in the best possible way! The song adaptations were always so good, too.
I remember seeing Linsk Miniak at a cabbage roll festival in 82 . I had way too many coffees .
I saw Minyak play the Goulash House just off I-17. It was an awesome show!
Linsk Minyak needs to go back on tour in 2023. Once again Linsk brings down the house
Linsk should have been able to sing "Last Train To Clarksville" all the way through.
"Stairway to Heaven" is a traditional Leutonian ballad–STOLEN by Led Zeppelin! Correct lyrics:
There's a lady who knows
How to make cabbage rolls
And her coffee's a stairway to heaven …
Rick's Slavic gibberish actually sounds pretty realistic. Everyone who lives in Pittsburgh has Slavic friends, even if we're not ourselves, so we've heard a lot of Slavic speech and music. Of course if you're of a certain age, you grew up with local polka shows just like this.
Take the last road to Leutonia
I can drive you to the station
Join the Xmas trees in the bed
Hurry up I'm losing patience
HO HO HO
Here's the egg.
Oh don't you know!
I remember watching Linsk Minyak in the early years. I though to myself, "self, this guy is going to be his own act one day, just you watch." Then one day I was driving from state to state, went to a Waffle House for breakfast. There was Linsk performing his act. My prediction came true.
