In the video SCTV – The Jazz Singer Linda McCartney Clip, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of made up Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a program which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was featured on CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob is performed by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by comic Dave Thomas. It was created originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and mock legal Canadian content demands, the characters became a pop culture success in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
