Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV – The Merv Griffin Show

In the video SCTV – The Merv Griffin Show, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of odd Canadian actors who can been seen in “Great White North”, a skit which was aired on SCTV for the show’s third season when it was aired on CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is created by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is played by actor Dave Thomas. Which was brought to life originally as filler to both fulfill and mock dumb Canadian content guidelines, the pair transformed into a pop culture success in both Canada and across the border. The pair went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
