Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV – The Merv Griffith Show

In the video SCTV – The Merv Griffith Show, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of imaginaryfunny Canadian comedians who can been seen in “Great White North”, a skit which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was featured on CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob McKenzie is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by comic Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was brought to life originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and mock non sensical Canadian content policies, the duo transformed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the USA. The pair later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
