Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV – The Mousetrap with Michael Caine
In the video SCTV – The Mousetrap with Michael Caine, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of odd Canadian family members who are responsible for “Great White North”, a show which was featured on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. Bob’s part is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was created originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and laugh about non sensical Canadian content laws, the duo morphed into a pop culture success in both Canada and across the border. The brothers became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Are Sleuth and Deathtrap too alike? Michael Caine tries to figure it out. Starring Dave Thomas.
