Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV – The Ramblers Greatest Hits
In the video SCTV – The Ramblers Greatest Hits, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hysterical Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a sketch which was broadcast on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it moved to CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by comic Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was developed originally as filler to both follow guidelines and laugh at network Canadian content statutes, the two grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The brothers became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Finally found it in my vast collection!
Cliff The Magic Squirrel! In stereo!
Unknown date. Reminds me of ‘A Mighty Wind’.

Martin Short is even funny pretending to play upright bass.
Bottle of wine sitting on my doorstep gotta lotta drinking and thinking to do.
Cliff was Puff's second cousin.
This show was brill!!
When do we get the remasted special edition double cd??
Is that taking the p out of the seekers lol
Better than Judy Collins and the Kingston Trio?
I know Cliff the magic squirrel, is their epic ode with secret deep meanings and all BUT C`mon bottle of wine take a slug or two is just relaxing AND I swear A couple of those Ramblers look a lot like ex- 5 Neat Guys.
Fucking GENIUS!
I really love The Ramblers I really do. Their protest songs got us through the 1960's. Songs like "Goin' Down To the Bottom of the Sea," "Tippy Tippy Toe," "Cliff The Magic Squirrel," "Truman's Gift for Hiroshima," "Hot Day in Nagasaki," "Batter Her Heaving Breasts," "Heroin Den Forever," "Smokin' Grass (From the Crack of Her Ass)," "My Girls Got My Boner," "Bry Hump the Baby Sitter," "One Eyed Worm," "Juicy Lucy (Maybe She Give Me Some Poosy)," "Take All of It," "Patsy Has the Largest Breasts in Town," "Going All the Way," "Mandy's Mellons," and "Calling First For Sloppy Seconds." I'm planning to go to their New Year's Eve Show at the end of November in Canada. There really great.
"…probably real cold…" just classic. How do they come up with this stuff?
I think the "Bottle of Wine" song pretty much sums up what these so-called protest singers were all about.
MARTIN SHORT ROCKIN THE UPRIGHT BASS LMAO
this autoplayed in another tab and somehow just from the way they were singing i knew it was SCTV lol
It's every awful folk band rolled into one.
30 bucks for cassette tape?!
Cliff the Magic Squirrel is one of my favorite songs, I wish they had made a full length version. They're musical talent is impeccable, an underrated comedy team.
I'm going down with the ship to see what I can see, lol. Awesome. I would love to see the Ramblers with The 5 Neat Guys as the warm up! BTW, the price at the end is a joke because no records were sold for over $10 on TV back then!
The Recess Monkeys, 5 Neat Guys, The Queen Haters, The Ramblers…. which one was the GOAT?
Cliff's okay but he ain't no Puff the Magic Dragon.
I like the subtle touch of Andrea not being able to reach the mic.
Too bad the commercial didn't include their hit "Ode to a Parking Lot"
I always wondered where Sir Christopher Guest got the idea for “A Mighty Wind”….
Brilliant…
So great the way they all look perfectly awful in the classic folksinger manner. Also the way Levy says "aksed" instead of "asked."
Hysterical. Never saw this. Just brilliant. Predated Spinal Tap and Mighty Wind. This is up there with the Smengy ? Brothers. They were nuts.
Bottle of wine is my favorite
I prefer The Folksmen, but that’s just me
I'm waiting for the box set to come out.
"Great, we could use the cash". The battle cry of folk movement.
