Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV – Totacontrol commercial

In the video SCTV – Totacontrol commercial, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of odd Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a program which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob McKenzie is played by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Although born originally as filler to both fulfill and makes jokes about silly Canadian content laws, the characters turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the States. The two soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
