In the video sctv – UFO Sharkey, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of made up Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a program which was introduced on second city television for the show’s third season when it got sent to CBC Television in . Bob’s character is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is performed by Dave Thomas. The sketch was made originally as a joke to both fulfill and laugh about dumb Canadian content rules, the characters morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the USA. The characters later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
