Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV

In the video SCTV, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of imaginaryfunny Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was televised on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob’s part is brought to life by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is acted by Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as an idea to both fulfill and laugh at annoying Canadian content legislation, the characters turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The pair soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
