John did a great job, but it reminds me so much of Don Knotts.
SCTV > SNL and always was.
Anyone here because of Conan … lol . Damn that was funny !
Golden
i was expecting this to not be as funny as Conan portrayed…but this thing was hilatrious
I'm 54 and used to watch SCTV I believe it was channel 12 (PBS) and I always remembered this skit.
I love how the chorus holds that last note.
O Canada…!!
crowned monarch
That'll teach that kid to clam up!
This is up there with Joe Flaherty telling his son, Billy, a story so scary that the boy dies with instant rigor mortis!
So many Conan mentions but f**kface podcast brought me here
Just because Conan mentioned it once doesn't mention you guys have to litter the comments section with it
You can see so much of Conan in under one minute. Legitimately plays like the "Ginger NO!" bits and I say that as a massive compliment to Conan. High octane morbid humor was a staple of Late Night.
that's crazy lmao
Thank you Conan lol
I watched this back in 1977 or 1978 when I was a kid. I laughed so hard!
What about Liverboat?
This is pretty good but I actually think Conan's slightly different version is even better.
He won't be calling anyone yellowbelly anytime soon.
Insane. Classic SCTV.
American gun owners in general.
I remember this when it first came out….we laughed and laughed
Thanks Conan
Conan on Stern brought me
The little kid also appeared with Candy in the SCTV Babe Ruth sketch.
Holy shit, you don't see too many comedy sketches like this!
this is hilaaaaaaaaarious xDDDDDDDDD
When the F**kface podcast brings you here but the comments are filled with Conan stans.
Nunnfuckers
Heard about this on stern
I am old enough to remember when this originally aired. I thought it was brilliant.
I credit James Garner. Maverick certainly subverted the John Wayne image. Then Garner portrayed a devout coward in Americanization. Jimbo Rockford was sensibly prudent. About the time this sketch came out, Garner was returning to prime time in Nichols, another fast talking smile flashing coward.
Yellowbelly is the natural progression.
I don't think you could get away with shooting a child like that these days. Maybe that's why he only did Yellowbelly once. I'm surprised it aired but so glad it did
I remember branded with Chuck connors
