Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV’s National Midnite Star (with subtitles)!

In the video SCTV’s National Midnite Star (with subtitles)!, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of strange Canadian actors who hosted “Great White North”, a segment which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is played by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is played by comic Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as a skit to both please and laugh at dumb Canadian content demands, the two transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
