In the video Secret 10-Year Mission to an Alien Planet 40 Light Years Away | Project Serpo, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hilarious Canadian brothers who created “Great White North”, a segment which was aired on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is performed by comic Dave Thomas. Despite developed originally as filler to both fulfill and laugh about legal Canadian content legislation, the siblings became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The pair soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Project Serpo: The Secret 10-Year Mission to a Planet 40 Light Years Away
What if you were offered the opportunity to visit another planet?
You get to experience the culture of an alien race, explore a new world; see and use technology that’s 5,000 years ahead of ours.
Would you do it?
Before you answer, there are a few catches. You’ll be gone for at least ten years. And when you return to Earth, all evidence of your existence will be erased. You have to start a new life, with a new identity; forbidden to tell anyone about what you experienced.
Now would you do it?
In 1965, 12 astronauts were sent to an alien planet as part of a human-alien exchange program. 13 years later the astronauts returned home.
Well, most of them did.
The mission commander wrote a 3,000-page report of everything his team experienced. First alien contact, the 40-light-year trip to the alien world, and everything that happened on the planet.
This is the true story of Project Serpo.

We know this channel has quickly become one of the best on the platform, it has charismatic and funny hosts with perfect delivery, incredibly professional production and editing, has an incredible output speed despite quality and length of content and discusses these topics in an open-minded yet fact-based way that is as honest as it is rational – something almost never seen in paranormal / mystery content.
But now ON TOP of all these accolades, AJ is finding stories rarely covered or that I've never heard of. Not just any old obscure story, but incredibly captivating rabbit holes. I'm not a complete skeptic or massive paranormal believer, but I'm still addicted to these stories and find them fascinating regardless. UFOs and aliens are by far my favorite of the genre, yet I never heard of Project Serpo until this video. MAN, what a story! This had me hooked from start to finish. The Why Files does not cease to impress.
There is good reason why the comments on these videos are filled with people flabbergasted at the quality of the content. You deserve the praise AJ!!

Roswell was a cover for international solutions to the USSR attacking communications equipment across the atlantic ocean. The idea was to build balloons that could replace the wires that were laid to communicate between the two. They were testing it out in the 1950s and trying to figure out how to communicate internationally. The cover up was likely due to this as they didn't want to release the international communications treaty and strategies to protect their communication solutions internationally. That is why it was a weather balloon and the bodies were likely dummies. The balloons were meant to pick up radio waves and send information internationally and was one such solution to the threat of the USSR cutting the wires in the atlantic which at the time was a serious threat.

I daresay that if I did it now with the Internet, some black-clad fellows would come and terminate me with extreme prejudice.
