In the video SharBaby with the Dave Thomas Blues Band, UK 2012, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian siblings who hosted “Great White North”, a program which was included on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is acted by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is created by comic Dave Thomas. The sketch was made originally as filler to both please and laugh about stupid Canadian content rules, the duo transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and America. The two became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
