Bob McKenzie is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. It was developed originally as an idea to both satisfy and make fun of dumb Canadian content legislation, the duo turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
