I just got back home from my vacation in San Francisco , and saw this great video…
I used to say this a lot as a teen.
Um, I still haven't heard the answer. Can anyone tell me how DID they get here? Did they drove n' did they flew?
Greatest compilation of all time
Been a running gag between me and my older brothers for years now.
A few years back the wife went on a business trip to San Francisco. I could have tagged along but I had to stay home so that when she returned I could ask….
gotta say it at least once in my life
When I saw this for the first time on the ABC special years ago, as a child, I thought he was speaking some Jewish language.
My dad loved this routine and I would often open a conversation with “San Fransisky??? “
0:26 so what sketch is this from ?
I say take the train…
5 people ride the train to San Franciscke
When I was a kid, I thought he was speaking some foreign language
Actually I drove Sid. Thanks for asking 🙂
It's such a stupid question that it's hilarious.
Can someone, anyone, explain the humor behind the Sid Dithers character always telling the “San Franciski; how did you came, did you drive or did you flew?”
Is bad grammar supposed to be part of being a Jewish Hollywood agent?
Who are the 4 eediots who voted thumbsdown on poor, old Sid? It's an outrage!
Gave me hope with the movie career opportunities, and unconfident guy, she, beautiful, and ok with someone out of the league
That's been a family joke in our house for forty years
Haha great job. I thought I was one of the only fans of Sid Dithers' "San Franciske." Glad to see there's more of us.
I had Sid as my taxi driver once.
Martin Short os a born FREAK
The perfect way to start your day!
So tell me. Did you drove or did you flew ?
Always one of my fav running gags on SCTV as a kid, still use it but only a couple friends get the reference, (other friends loss i guess for missing it, lost a bit of respect for them!! LOL)
Always remember this line for some reason. Still laugh when I hear it.
Was able to pull out the Sid Dithers classic today on an elderly gentleman sporting a SF jacket, at a yard sale I was working. He flew……thx for posting, OP!
Classic. I always use this as a response. Was at a work related seminar and somebody mentioned they had just got back from a project in San Francisco. I had to say it. Just heard crickets chirping but I was cracking up inside.
its the fucking funniest. Best show ever made. SCTV
For the last 33+ years, anytime someone has mentioned "San Fransisco" I've either thought of this or on many occasions said it out loud….to the recipient's total and utter bewilderment, which makes it that much more entertaining. Thanks for posting this. My wife just said it to our son, which means we're soul mates – so I came here to show him.
What is this joke based on?
OMG, thanks so much for this. I always remembered this but could never find a reference to it, glad someone else found it hilarious as well!
