In the video Skeleton’s Waltz – Dave Thomas cover – accordion, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of strange Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sent to CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s character is played by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by Dave Thomas. The bit was created originally as fluff to both satisfy and make fun of silly Canadian content demands, the pair transformed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the US. The brothers soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
