Bob and Doug McKenzie in Song 8 – Great White North

In the video Song 8 – Great White North, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of made up Canadian comedians who can been seen in “Great White North”, a improv which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it was aired on CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob is acted by Rick Moranis and Doug is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was created originally as a sketch to both satisfy and makes jokes about non sensical Canadian content demands, the characters transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The characters became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
