Bob and Doug McKenzie in Song Of The Great White North

In the video Song Of The Great White North, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of strange Canadian comedians who starred in “Great White North”, a program which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it streamed by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by comic Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was brought to life originally as a sketch to both satisfy and laugh about non sensical Canadian content demands, the brothers became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The two went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
