Bob and Doug McKenzie in Spaceballs [1987]: I Am Your Father’s Brother’s Nephew’s Cousin’s Former Roommate

In the video Spaceballs [1987]: I Am Your Father’s Brother’s Nephew’s Cousin’s Former Roommate, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of made up Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a show which was shown on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s character is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as filler to both fulfill and make fun of network Canadian content rules, the pair morphed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
