In the video Spaceballs | Theatrical Trailer | 1987, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a program which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was aired on CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob McKenzie is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as fluff to both fulfill and makes jokes about legal Canadian content guidelines, the siblings turned into a pop culture success in both Canada and the USA. The brothers enetually would become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
