In the video Steve and Garry Show / WLS Chicago / guests Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas / 1982, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of made up Canadian family members who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it aired by CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is brought to life by actor Rick Moranis and the character Doug is played by comic Dave Thomas. It was made originally as fluff to both fulfill and mock legal Canadian content demands, the pair turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
