In the video Strange Brew (1983) 35mm film teaser trailer, flat open matte, 2160p, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of made up Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a show which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s character is performed by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as an idea to both please and laugh about dumb Canadian content statutes, the brothers turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
This 35mm film trailer has been given to me by a contributor and transferred to digital using the Gugusse Roller with the Raspberry Pi HQ Camera.

These characters pretty much embody the most obvious Canadian stereotype
For a movie from a sketch comedy team it's quite silly
Yet harmless given Moranis and Thomas are equivalents of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern
So many silly things in here from an ice hockey rink in a beer factory to an overinflated man to a flying dog
This ended up having a cult following which makes it one of the rare films based on sketches that gets a pass
Nothing great but passable
Who’s witnessing the MGM logo behind the scenes in 35mm hard flat open matte?
Also, who’s the trailer voice in this? He sounds very familiar.
Finally saw the movie when it was available on YouTube for free, this was delightfully goofy and outlandish.
