In the video Strange Brew (1983) score – 18 – Surveillance Room, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hysterical Canadian family members who can been seen in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was televised on SCTV for the show’s third season when it was aired on CBC Television in the 1980s. The character Bob McKenzie is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by actor Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and laugh at non sensical Canadian content demands, the siblings morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and across the border. The brothers soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
