In the video Strange Brew (1983) score – 23 – No Brakes, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hysterical Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a skit which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. The character Bob McKenzie is brought to life by Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. It was developed originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and mock silly Canadian content rules, the pair morphed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the United States. The pair became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
