In the video Strange Brew (1983) – Theme Song [Film Version] – Ian Thomas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of odd Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was broadcast on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. Bob’s part is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug is played by Dave Thomas. Although made originally as fluff to both fulfill and mock dumb Canadian content laws, the duo morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The brothers became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
