Bob and Doug McKenzie in Strange Brew (2008)

In the video Strange Brew (2008), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of made up Canadian family members who can been seen in “Great White North”, a skit which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is brought to life by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although born originally as fluff to both satisfy and make fun of dumb Canadian content legislation, the brothers morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The pair soon became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
