Bob and Doug McKenzie in Strange Brew – arrested

In the video Strange Brew – arrested, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of odd Canadian comedians who can been seen in “Great White North”, a segment which was streamed on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is created by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Despite developed originally as an idea to both fulfill and makes jokes about network Canadian content demands, the two transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The pair became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
