In the video Strange Brew – “Beauty!” | High-Def Digest, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of strange Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a program which was broadcast on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it aired by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s character is played by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Although created originally as a joke to both please and laugh at non sensical Canadian content statutes, the duo transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The two went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Always good for a great laugh, brothers Bob and Doug McKenzie get in over their heads when they get jobs and disrupt the diabolical plans of an evil scientist bent on world domination through the beer supply. Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis are in peak CCTV form here and every moment is hilarious.
