In the video Strange Brew: Bob & Doug McKenzie #shorts, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hilarious Canadian comedians who can been seen in “Great White North”, a segment which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it aired by CBC Television in in the early 80s. The character Bob McKenzie is performed by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. It was developed originally as an idea to both fulfill and make fun of silly Canadian content legislation, the characters transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The two went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
