Bob and Doug McKenzie in Strange Brew – Free World.wmv

In the video Strange Brew – Free World.wmv, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was included on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s part is played by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is acted by comic Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was born originally as fluff to both satisfy and make fun of silly Canadian content statutes, the characters grew up to be a pop culture success in both Canada and the US. The pair soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
