Bob and Doug McKenzie in Strange Brew – new jobs

In the video Strange Brew – new jobs, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of odd Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a segment which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s third season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in 1980. Bob’s character is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was born originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and laugh about non sensical Canadian content laws, the characters became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the States. The brothers enetually would become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
