In the video Strange Brew Reviewed By John & I, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of odd Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was featured on CBC Television in . The character Bob McKenzie is created by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although born originally as a skit to both please and make fun of legal Canadian content policies, the characters grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The pair later became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
