In the video Strange Brew, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian family members who starred in “Great White North”, a skit which was included on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s partThe character Bob is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is performed by Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was developed originally as filler to both fulfill and makes jokes about annoying Canadian content statutes, the siblings morphed into a pop culture success in both Canada and the US. The pair enetually would become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Strange Brew (also known as The Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie: Strange Brew) is a 1983 Canadian comedy film starring the popular SCTV characters Bob and Doug McKenzie, portrayed by Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis, who also served as co-directors. Co-stars include Max von Sydow, Paul Dooley, Lynne Griffin and Angus MacInnes.

Loosely based on elements of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, most of the film was shot in Toronto, Scarborough, Kitchener and Hamilton, Ontario. Parts were also filmed in Prince George, British Columbia.
