Bob and Doug McKenzie in Strange Brew

In the video Strange Brew, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of fictional Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a program which was introduced on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is acted by comic Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as filler to both satisfy and laugh about network Canadian content laws, the brothers transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The pair soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
