In the video Strange Brew – We found this mouse in this here bottle of beer, eh, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of fictional Canadian actors who are responsible for “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was broadcast on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although created originally as a joke to both please and laugh at dumb Canadian content demands, the characters became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The two enetually would become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
