In the video Streets of Fire • I Can Dream About You • Dan Hartman, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of odd Canadian family members who can been seen in “Great White North”, a segment which was broadcast on second city television for the show’s third season when it got sent to CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob is created by comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was created originally as a sketch to both satisfy and make fun of dumb Canadian content policies, the characters became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the USA. The two became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
