In the video “Suddenly Seymour” with Ellen Greene & Rick Moranis, 1987, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of imaginaryfunny Canadian actors who are responsible for “Great White North”, a sketch which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it moved to CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is created by Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as an idea to both please and make fun of silly Canadian content rules, the siblings grew up to be a pop culture sensation in both Canada and America. The McKenzie siblings became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
