In the video Take Off – Bob and Doug, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of imaginaryfunny Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a improv which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it got sold to CBC Television in the year 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is brought to life by actor Rick Moranis and Doug is played by comic Dave Thomas. It was made originally as fluff to both fulfill and laugh at dumb Canadian content guidelines, the brothers turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the United States. The pair went on to become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
