Bob and Doug McKenzie in Take Off, new version.
In the video Take Off, new version., Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of hysterical Canadian actors who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in . Bob’s character is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and laugh at dumb Canadian content legislation, the pair grew up to be a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
A new version of Take Off by Doug and Bob McKenzie with Geddy Lee.
My brother Michael played all the instruments on this one. He made a version without vocals by him self. I just added Geddy Lee’s voice on it.
It was not easy.
I also made the pictures with text.
There’s a extra guitar solo at the end.
Check out and maybe sub to these channels as well:

I'm here off the original "hit single." I don't care what anyone else says, your bro did a great job with that guitar solo at the end..It's been awhile- maybe you do another one, and get some girls from a church or school choir to sing the trademark "angels" part. Maybe you pay 'em, oh I don't know… ten bucks.
Man, this video brings back good memories…
I remember first finding this video when my dad was showing me the McKenzie brothers when I was younger, and how psyched I was to find a version of their song with just the music. I listened to this video all the time back then, right around when it was first posted give or take a few years, and finding it again just brings back so much nostalgia.
Seriously, thank you — and your brother as well — for creating such a memorable part of my adolescence
Beauty aaaaayyyy!! I'm back.
Just not the same without the commentary of Bob and Doug.
when you used geddy's sample voice i hope you paid him 10 bucks eh.

BRAVO!
…erm, I mean, "beauty!"
All I can picture is Ash Williams speeding with Ted Raimi in the passenger seat drinking Shemp's Beer.
I love it. It's something I've always wanted. But I really really wish it had the female backing vocals. That was always one of my favorite parts
Great Job guys, 9/10 would be a 10/10 if the "angel voices" was added with the instrumentals at the end, the female angel vocals really was a key piece of the original song. All in All you guys did an awesome job, SUPER Impressed !!
The TRUE Great White North isn't in the lower 48's.
where's the croocoocoocoo part?
Good stuff, great job of lifting the vocal from the original – it's not that easy to do without altering the vocal too much itself 🙂
I play this on snow days
Very well done. Thanks.
I like the Idea of this being used on a promo video for air Canada….
Nicely done! awesome version!
true story bro i've searched 4 years before i found this version ffs ;D
that s me on guitar!
XLNT!!!!!!!!
Pretty good, the new solo was good, but I can't say it was excellent. Bob and Doug are the reason this song, or "hit single" was great.
ok – no more bashing , I thought this was fun, but your brother just cant rock the drums the way Bob did. So take off hosers! – Its a beauty way to go.
