Bob and Doug McKenzie in Take Off

In the video Take Off, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian comedians who created “Great White North”, a segment which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob McKenzie is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously born originally as an idea to both fulfill and laugh about non sensical Canadian content legislation, the pair turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The characters became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
