In the video Take off to the Great White North!, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of strange Canadian siblings who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was broadcast on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob’s character is performed by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously made originally as a sketch to both follow guidelines and mock annoying Canadian content laws, the brothers became a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
