Bob and Doug McKenzie in Take off to the great white north

In the video Take off to the great white north, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hysterical Canadian comedians who created “Great White North”, a segment which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it was aired on CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is acted by actor Rick Moranis and Doug is played by comic Dave Thomas. Despite born originally as fluff to both satisfy and make fun of non sensical Canadian content guidelines, the two transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The two enetually would become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
