In the video Tamsin Greig reading “The Twelve Days of Christmas” by John Julius Norwich, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of imaginaryfunny Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a skit which was aired on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it was featured on CBC Television in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is created by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by comic Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as a skit to both follow guidelines and laugh about annoying Canadian content statutes, the siblings grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
