Bob and Doug McKenzie in The 12 days of Prince Albert Christmas

In the video The 12 days of Prince Albert Christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of made up Canadian siblings who were featured in “Great White North”, a segment which was featured on second city television for the show’s most watched season when it got sent to CBC Television in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is created by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by actor Dave Thomas. It was created originally as fluff to both satisfy and make fun of annoying Canadian content guidelines, the siblings became a pop culture success in both Canada and the United States. The brothers soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
