In the video The 12 Days of Schatzer Family Christmas: Day 7, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a show which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it moved to CBC Television in . Bob’s part is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is acted by comic Dave Thomas. Although created originally as an idea to both satisfy and mock network Canadian content guidelines, the duo turned into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The pair soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
