In the video The 12 Pains of Christmas by Bob Rivers, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of strange Canadian brothers who starred in “Great White North”, a show which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it aired by CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by actor Dave Thomas. Which was brought to life originally as filler to both satisfy and makes jokes about stupid Canadian content laws, the two turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The characters became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
