In the video The 12 Pains of Christmas, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hilarious Canadian brothers who can been seen in “Great White North”, a segment which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was featured on CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is played by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was developed originally as fluff to both please and mock stupid Canadian content guidelines, the siblings turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The two went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Alternate ending:
Instead of them singing "And finding a Christmas tree", the song would end with someone singing "And sitting on top of a tree", possibly followed by "Ow!".
Why is this unlisted now?
God I had this in cd back in the late 1980s. It’s was part of a the Bib River Comedy cd set. This was the Twisted Christmas one. He had others in the 1990s. I had I am Santa and Twisted Tunes 94. So many funny songs. It’s the only Christmas cd l liked. Can’t stand Christmas.

Love the part with the lights. As for them blinking, from experience, blinking is far better than flickering!
Found out one year after rigging up the lights that the lighting fixture I tapped into for the power had the insulating sleeve around its socket was faulty and started shorting out. Glad that was discovered and repaired before we had a fire.
