It's so entertaining I'm like who cares hes wearing Lou Gehrigs number haha he actually conjures up the likeness of the real Babe more so than anyone I've ever seen play him! And tragic to think both he and the Babe had their lives cut way too short….both victims of overindulgence. I still miss John Candy. His work on SCTV showcased the extent of his talent way more than the jolly, sad and awkward yet kind "fat guy" persona he was typecast as in movies always.
Wearing Gehrig's number 4. Hmmm
Help me SCTV fans, please !!
There is a scene where Guy Caballero is watching something he doesn’t like and starts saying,,, “ I don’t like this I don’t like this I’m a scared ,,,,,,,,,, then rubs his hands all over all over his face while making booba booba bluba bluba sounds……….
I thought it was the ZONTAR episode but I’m mistaken because I watched Zontar on my DVD looking for that scene a few years ago and my buddy watched it a few days ago online looking for it and it ain’t there.
HELP if you can.
It’s buggin’ me.
ANY info. at all would be greatly appreciated.
RIP, John,… gone 25 years ago today.
George Herman Ruth wore number 3.
God Awful funny!
Hey!
Babe wore #3. Lou Gehrig wore #4!
This vid is hilarious, btw!
"Alright I'll eat 50 hot dogs."
"Gee, I don't know, kid . . ."
"Ohhhh . . ."
"Alright, alright!"
This is gold
Wait, the little twerp's parents got Moe Greene as a fugazy doc who jams a hypo in the Babe's back….did the Babe do time for mauling the lil' kiddo?
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!
This one had me doubled over with laughter. Between Joe Flaherty's basket of 50 hot dogs, and John Candy's brilliant delivery
with his lines, makes this an SCTV comedy classic.
Kick his butt, Babe! I always loved when he attacks that little rat. 🙂
Exactly as Sean Potter said below, I also feel a kind of kinship with people who I meet who are into SCTV. Pretty much assured that anyone who gets into the some of the same great yet obscure and underrated bands and SCTV is going to be a cool, interesting, intelligent person who is worth getting to know. I don't mean to sound pretentious, but if you don't get how F*****KING amazingly hilarious, ground breaking, and intelligent(but without being pretentious) SCTV was, then, I'm sorry, but you are probably not going to be all that intelligent and most likely not my cup tea, eh? Yes I do sound like a snooty pretentious douchebag, it is hose the facts and I'm too old to be wasting my time with people who don't get SCTV.
I thought that John Candy had imitated John Madden at some point, I've been looking all over you tube for it
I love how 'Babe's wearing Lou Gehrig's No 4 LOL
LOL!!!
hahahahaha!
I love how Dr. Ramis has to hypo Ruth to get him off the kid!
It's hard to believe that SCTV was originally only on for 5 seasons. They sure packed a helluva lot of classic material in those 5 short years. Too bad that it couldn't have lasted for 40+ seasons, instead of Saturday Night Live.
Ruth was #3…..Grehrigwas #4.What do Canadians know about baseball?
what a little brat, hehehheh
I love it how the kid's father just happens to have "50 hot dogs" by the bedside–looks like the whole family besides the little kid were out to humiliate "Babe" LOL
..I'll eat those fifty hot=dogs for him as well then, after all little Johnny's unreasonable demands .I'll take batting practice on his head .Lol .Great classic from one of the best comedians that ever was .John Candy .R.i.P .We miss ya John
I'll hit a gazillion homers for little Johnny .
I've wondered why he didn't play oliver hardy?, since he was one of his comedy idols growing up.
He was supposed to play louis tully in ghostbusters.but he bowed out because he stated he didn't know how to play the character.like give him an german accent for example.
Saw this when I was 12…still laugh at it 39 years later…
Could eat fifty hot dogs Babe,Epic.
To paraphrase Cinema Snob…
This is more accurate than the ACTUAL Babe Ruth Story.
still perfection…
Yes, Ruth wore a number 3! Heaven knows the rest of the skit was just a paragon of historical accuracy. Geez, folks. Take if for what it was: brilliant comedy.
classic comedy
"My legs aren't what they used to be Kid."
"stand on your head…"
"I'll stand on your Head!!!!!"
LOL!!!…….John Candy RIP.
Absolutely hilarious !!
Second city and Saturday night live two of my favorite comedy shows from the 70s. I remember staying up late watching these two classic comedies when I was a kid.
Oh man… Kinda like a ghost busters/Home Alone reunion BEFORE they were made lol. I didn't know Catherine O'Hara was in Second City.
SCTV Was so Ridiculously Good!!!! I always feel a Kinship when people I meet Loved and Enjoyed it as much I Did and. ….Still Do!!!!
The Bambino
SCTV gave us more laughs. Brilliant comedy. Great troupe.
Classic.
steal home bass babe
jesus, who gives a fuck what number he's wearing you pedantic sports fans.
Just saw the Cinema Snob review of that movie and boy was it
funny! 🙂
Love this….watched it a dozen times in 2 days with my son…
still laughing………classic
Ruth was 3 not 4
Dr. Harold Ramis, RIP.
Ruth wore number 3, not 4. Kind of a big mistake there, oops.
