In the video THE BOB 106.9 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS GRAND PRIZE WINNER!!!, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of odd Canadian family members who starred in “Great White North”, a program which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s character is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is played by Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as a skit to both satisfy and makes jokes about network Canadian content policies, the duo morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The pair soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
